My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

UPDATED BIO 02/25/2017: Griffin's leg is healing very well from his recent surgery. He continues to develop muscle, and is now walking on this leg most of the time. He still picks it up on occasion and when running, but for the most part, he walks around on all four legs. He will even stand on both hind legs if there is a treat involved! He has done remarkably well for all he has been through in such a short time.

Griff is such a sweet little guy. He makes funny little noises to let you know he wants your attention and he won't give up until you pick him up and hold him and cuddle and give him lots of belly rubs. He loves belly rubs. He'll throw his head back when you pick him up so his belly is right out there waiting for a rub!

Due to the extensive surgery Griff has undergone, he will have to be careful for the rest of his life. Since he’s only a doggie, he doesn’t know how to be careful, so he will be dependent on his adoptive family to protect him from any sort of trauma to his legs. His furever home will need to monitor his living conditions to ensure he never takes a bad fall as this could compromise his hip surgery and possibly require additional surgery. For this reason, he must never be placed on furniture where he could possibly jump off or have to go up and down stairs, engage in rough play with another pup in the household or be held by small children. His new owner will always need to be cautious and protective so as to prevent Griff from having another fall. Could your home be the perfect home for little Griff?

Griffin's adoption donation is $375.00 and includes all vetting (neuter, dental cleaning, immunizations, microchip and chip registration). A Vet reference, personal references, and home visit are required for adoption. You may apply to adopt Griffin by visiting our website at www.unitedyorkierescue.org and completing the adoption application located on our home page.
