My name is SiSi and sadly my family, after having me for 1 year, left me at the Montreal SPCA because they were no longer allowed to have me in their apartment.
CAA Rescue got the call to help me and my foster mama said YES! I was immediately whisked away that same day from the pound to my foster home.
And while when I arrived in foster care I did have accidents in the home and was a little shy with humans it did not take long for my true smarty pants teckel attitude to come out!
I am now house trained and leash trained although I can tell you that I do not have much fun in the colder temperatures.
I am your typical smooth short haired Dachshund that is “half a dog high and a dog and a half long”
No one can resist my sweet expressive face, soulful eyes, and droopy ears!
I love to be close to my foster mom but when she is busy doing choirs and being stalked by other CAA Rescue foster dog named KiKi I usually like to nap with the kitties.
I live with both cats and dogs in rescue and enjoy the company of them all.
I have not been around any young children so I do not know how I would respond, but everyone who has been respectful to me I have been respectful back.
I have not been left alone any length of time so I do not really know if I suffer from separation anxiety, I can tell you though that I do enjoy the company of others both furry and non furry kind so if you are away from home leaving all alone for long hours every day I probably won’t be too happy.
I am active both indoors and outdoors. As much as I can be independent I do need my interactions with other animals and people otherwise I could potentially get mischievous. As a 1 year old baby girl I have already been through so much in my life and through it all I have remained happy and friendly; I need someone to keep working with me and training me, showing me all the new things this life still has to teach me!
Even though I am a small girl I have a HUGE BIGLY lung capacity so expect to hear me when I decide to bark, it is after all just my nature!
I am a clever and smart girl so I am really looking for a family that has experience with my breed, a fondness for my breed and utmost love and respect for my breed to love me for always!

A 3-Step process to adopt one of our foster dogs.
1. Fill the adoption form. It might seem long, but it’s the best way to find the right dog for you and your family!
2. We’ll arrange a meeting with the foster family of the dog you want to meet so you can see if s/he’s the right one for you.
3. If you decide to move forward, you’ll be asked to agree to a home visit, fill-in and sign an adoption contract and pay the adoption fee.
