My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Jimmy is about 8 month-old, 12 lb boy.
He was recently rescued from an overcrowded kill-shelter in Korea. In fact, he was a hair's breadth away from getting euthanized when his soulful glance captured the heart of his foster mom.
He was rescued in early November, 2016 and went through health check up, which he passed with flying colors. His hair was severely matted and had to be shaved down but it will grow into shiny black coat in no time!

His foster mom cannot say enough what a sweetie this cuddle bug is. Here is what she says:

"Jimmy is a quiet soul that is just looking for love. He rests quietly near you, just absorbing all the good life has to offer him now. He’s healthy and very good with other dogs. This sweetie is a real catch and anyone reading this should hurry to apply because he’s a great little dog!"

Jimmy is currently fostered in a group home setting in Korea. We plan on bringing him to Northern Virginia at the end of February 2017 upon finding a forever family for him.

Prior to rescue, many of our dogs have experienced minimal socialization and it takes time for them to learn about life as a family pet. Common skills such as house training and leash walking may often take a little extra time. Patience, understanding and a gentle hand are a must. The great news is, most of these dogs come around rather quickly and being a part of their rehabilitation is an extremely rewarding experience.
We typically do not adopt to homes with children under 8 years old.
A home check is mandatory before adoption.
Adoption fee is $300.

If interested in Jimmy, please email us with a little info about you, your family, your other pets, your experience as a dog owner (which breed, etc.), where you live (which city, home or apt?), etc. including telephone number. Thank you.

*** About us ***
Hope For Donghae Paws(HDP) is a non-profit 501(c)(3) public charity dedicated to bringing rescue dogs from Korea to the US and finding permanent homes for them. It is true there are many animal lovers in Korea, but still many dogs suffer and are killed for food.
Our mission is to find US homes for mixed-breed dogs whose chances of being adopted in their native Korea are very low.
