My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Khan is a 3 years old Cocker Spaniel and Labrador Retriever mix, he is smaller than most Labrador and weighs 33 lbs. Khan is a helicopter tail wagging, superstar who loves long runs and spending time with human friends over 8 years of age, especially if they like to teach him new games.

A perfect day for Khan includes going for a jog or playing chase, going for a car ride with the wind blowing through his ears, then snuggling up for a nap with his head rested on your lap. Khan love to share his home with other dogs!

Khan is intelligent, focused, and enjoys training sessions because he learns new tricks quickly. He's quite the smarty pants and loves to show off his new skills for an audience! You can rest assure knowing that his attention loving personality will never allow you to walk alone, because he will always be by your side.

If your family loves going on adventures and wants a best friend to join in on the fun, from hiking to movie nights to just running errands, you might be the perfect match for sweet, silly Khan boy!

Khan is currently under foster care in Korea. We plan on bringing him to Northern Virginia in late February upon finding a forever family for him.

Prior to rescue, many of our dogs have experienced minimal socialization and it takes time for them to learn about life as a family pet. Common skills such as house training and leash walking may often take a little extra time. Patience, understanding and a gentle hand are a must. The great news is, most of these dogs come around rather quickly and being a part of their rehabilitation is an extremely rewarding experience.
We typically do not adopt to homes with children under 8 years old.
A home check is mandatory before adoption.
Adoption fee is $300.

If interested in Khan, please email us with a little info about you, your family, your other pets, your experience as a dog owner (which breed, etc.), where you live (which city, home or apt?), etc. including telephone number. Thank you.

*** About us ***
Hope For Donghae Paws(HDP) is a non-profit 501(c)(3) public charity dedicated to bringing rescue dogs from Korea to the US and finding permanent homes for them. It is true there are many animal lovers in Korea, but still many dogs suffer and are killed for food.
Our mission is to find US homes for mixed-breed dogs whose chances of being adopted in their native Korea are very low.
