My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

NICOLETTE

Spayed Female     White     Miniature Poodle     8 Yrs.     10 Pounds

I am a bit of a rarity here at the poodle rescue organization – a purebred Miniature Poodle.  But I’m not at all snooty about it.  A little reserved perhaps as befits the dignity of a purebred Miniature Poodle, but not snooty or shy.  In fact, my impeccable lineage nothwithstanding, I get along with dogs of all backgrounds, including those little white fluffy poodle mixes that I keep meeting when I go with my foster mom to adoption events.   Not only that, but I even get along with cats!  If anything would show that I’m open minded, that would have to be it.

I am a very young eight years old – barely middle aged for a Miniature Poodle.  But old enough to have learned some manners.  For instance, I am house trained and I’m very well behaved when out walking.  That’s the advantage of a mature canine partner like me as opposed to one of those clueless puppies.

So what am I doing out looking for a new home?  It was one of those sad things.  I had a wonderful, loving owner who passed away.  I was kindly taken in by her daughter and her daughter’s family, but they were away working all day and that is not something I am really used to.  I was good about accepting it, but they knew I would be happier with someone who would be a homebody like I am.  I would be very happy with a mature person, or with a family with children who are middle school age and up (I don’t have any experience with children younger than that).  I just need a loving lap to sit on – I’m something of a professional lap sitter!

So if you have an empty lap just waiting for someone like me, please do call so we can get together and live happily ever after.

Dogs are vaccinated, microchipped  and spayed/neutered before adoption.

The necessary first step to inquire about any dog, is to complete the NCPR Adoption Interest Form. Once we receive the NCPR Adoption Interest Form, a volunteer will contact you promptly. We need your information to match you with the perfect companion. NorCal Poodle Rescue places dogs within northern California only.
