Bentlee is between 5-7 years old, and ARF took him in because he was living at the end of a chain. Apparently, even that existence came about because he had been unwanted and when the owners' neighbors moved away, they left Bentlee. So this family took him to a doghouse, chained him there in the mud, and threw him some food once a day. Finally, with the cold winter weather, the wife decided that Bentlee deserved better and contacted ARF. When Bentlee came into boarding on 1/16/17, he was very matted and dirty. He was given Comfortis and Drontal upon intake, and he received a grooming on 1/17/17 to make him feel better. Bentlee is a sweet dog, not housetrained since he has never been allowed inside, but loving people and loving having his ears scratched. He is about 28 pounds and will think he is in heaven when he actually gets to live in a home with a loving family. He will need a little training on inside manners, but he is quickly making progress and he is so very worth the effort!
