My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi there, I’m glad to see you checking out my page! I’m Almond Harris and it’s great to meet you. I’m looking for a new family to call my own! Could it be you?

Here’s my stats:

Possible Breed: Lhasa Apso

Gender: I’m a male

Colors: Very handsome Cream and White

Age: The vet says about 12 years

Weight: Around 15 pounds

Special Needs: Almond has a heart condition that requires him to be on medication twice a day. He has some weakness in his rear legs so he cannot climb stairs or jump on and off furniture. He also has cataracts in his eyes. One is more advanced than the other.

Ideal home: Almond’s medical issues make him a little grumpy. He can bite when he is afraid so he cannot go to a home with children. He would do best in a home as an only dog with someone who understands his special needs and will be ready to work with him around his issues. He may tolerate other dogs as long as they do not bother him. Almond is looking for a very special family to love him despite his difficulties!

Now for more…
Almond is pretty much a couch potato! He is an independent guy who likes his space, very much. He really prefers to be on his own, and not picked up much. He has a few plush toys he sometimes plays with and he goes to his crate on his own, when he needs his alone time. He does enjoy short walks but can’t go far. He rides well in the car.

His foster mom says, “Almond can be a little grumpy but the day I found out he likes car rides was so funny. In the midst of being moody, he realized I was trying to get him into the car and in that moment, he turned into a little kid on his way to the candy shop. It was so cute.”

PS. I've had ALL my vetting, and oh boy, it was a lot. Here's what I had done:
Distemper/Parvo shots – TWICE. One shot doesn't cut it.
Bordetella shots - ALSO TWICE.
Spay/Neuter-of course.
A fecal exam so I don't have any bad worms. Treatment if I do.
A heartworm test. Treatment if I am positive for heart worms
BLOODWORK to make sure my liver and kidneys are working well, because you know, we doggies often have issues in the liver and kidneys.
A DENTAL exam AND cleaning if I needed it- yep, all my toofies are checked out.
See, that's a LOT. Ask your vet - that's a LOT.
