UPDATED BIO 01/30/2017 Pepper is a sweet little yorkie mix. She is only a year old puppy. Pepper weighs just about 7.5 pounds. Pepper is being fostered in Clearwater, FL.
Pepper's adoption fee is $425 and includes all vetting (neuter/spay, dental cleaning, immunizations, microchip and chip registration). A Vet reference, personal references, and home visit are required for adoption. UPDATED BIO 03/01/2017: THE PEPPER POST CHAPTER 2
Hello everyone! Pepper here. I am the sweetest little yorkie mix you will ever meet. Not a lot is known about my past but here is what I do know.
I was a stray rescued from a shelter. I’m not sure what mix I am, but I know I am totally cute. The vet thinks I’m a morkie (maltese/yorkie), but I’m not too sure. I am also thought to be 1 year old and I am very much a playful puppy.
When I was rescued by UYR, it appeared that I had been hit by a car, and some time had passed without being treated. Both of my legs were broken and my hip was shattered and I was also mildly malnourished when UYR saved me. I have since healed as well as possible and am strong and healthy. I only have use of three legs since the fourth one has no feeling in it, so I like to think of it as decoration. Don't feel sorry for me though. I am otherwise a happy little girlie.
I would love to find my forever home because I have a lot of years of love to give to you. I can bring a ton of happiness to some lucky family. Now, a few important things about me that my adopter would like to know. IMPORTANT INFO: I like to walk between peoples’ legs like a cat, so if you have stability/mobility issues, please keep in mind that I could be a potential tripping hazard.
I was likely abused when I was much younger and I am just now getting over my trust issues. I may take a little time, but I eventually warm up to people in a short while. If you have patience with me, it only takes about 10 minutes with me, and you won't be able to get rid of me easily.
My ideal home would be a single floor home with a large fenced-in back yard where I can walk around and explore and be free - this is one of my favorite things in the world to do. I don't do well with dog parks because of my past and sometimes I don't play well with some other animals that I don’t know.
I am shy around young children so it would be best for me to go to an adult-only home. Children may not realize that I am a special-needs girlie and can’t rough-house with them. Now, don’t get me wrong, I love to play, but it needs to be gentle playtime. Oh, I guess I should tell you that I require a lot of attention in the form of scratching my chin and belly.
My foster parents do not keep me in a kennel and I have full run of the house and backyard – I like this freedom. I enjoy napping when they are away from home, and I insist on sleeping in the bed with them.

PLEASE NOTE: Pepper likes to walk between your legs like a cat when you walk, so this can be a severe tripping hazard. Please take this into account if you have balance or stability issues or use a walker or cane, as it may not be the right home for her. Pepper is unable to jump up and special care should always be given to her hind area as not to cause further damage. A home with stairs or young children will not be considered for her.
