My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Silver was a stray cat living outside. A volunteer noticed she had a terrible eye injury so when space became available at Good Mews she was able to enter our foster program. Her injury was so bad her eye had to be removed. But that did not take anything away from Silver’s beauty. She is still a gorgeous girl! Once she healed she came to the shelter. But unfortunately Silver is a very shy girl so she is over-looked on adoption days. When she first came to the shelter nobody could touch her, but she has made a lot of progress! If you walk slowly towards her, you are able to gently pet her. I know she enjoys this, because she will not run and sometimes she purrs. Because she is so shy she will require a very patient family who will give her all the time she needs. But I know she will come around. And I think she will be well worth the wait. Cats like this also deserve loving homes. Even if you can’t pick them up and cuddle with them, it is still such a joy to sit back and watch them play with their other kitty friends, or watch them sit in a window and watch the birds, or just watch them peacefully sleep in a comfortable bed.. Because you know they are safe and happy, it makes you happy. I know watching my shy cat in these situations puts a big smile on my face…and I think if someone took Silver home, and sat and watched how happy she was in her own home, she would put a big smile on their face as well. So please come meet Silver soon. She loves other cats so she must go to a home with other feline friends!
**Update-Silver is making a lot of progress! When the shelter is quiet, she is starting to approach people and will ask to be petted! She really enjoys this and even does the “elevator butt”! I think once she is in a quiet home and with a lot of patience, she will be a wonderful companion!
