My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Wow, so glad you are checking out my page! I’m Rainbow Barkley and it’s great to meet you. I’m looking for a new family to call my own! Could it be you?

Here’s my stats:
Possible Breed: Shih Tzu and maybe something else
Gender: I’m a girly-girl
Colors: White with tan patches
Age: The vet says about 4
Weight: around 8 pounds

Special Needs: I was hit by a car and had significant damage. I had surgery and have a metal plate in my back. I have a little bit of a funny walk and when I run, I drag my back leg. I have to have my bladder expressed several times a day or I will get an infection and I don’t have control of when I have a bowel movement.

Ideal Home: Rainbow would do best in a quiet, calm home as an only dog. She can get a little snippy toward other dogs while she is eating or sitting with her person. She should be in a home where she is not left alone for more than a very short time.

Now for the good stuff!-
I’m basically a quiet girl, a little shy and I really like to sit on your lap. I like to be around people instead of playing with dogs. I’m not a big toy kind of gal either. I do walk well on a leash and I ride well in a car. I’m not on any special medications and have no known medical issues other than those I already told you about. I know that not everyone can love a special girl like me. But maybe you might be the one? If you are, please ask my foster about me.

PS. I've had ALL my vetting, and oh boy, it was a lot. Here's what I had done:
Distemper/Parvo shots – TWICE. One shot doesn't cut it.
Bordetella shots - ALSO TWICE.
Spay/Neuter-of course.
A fecal exam so I don't have any bad worms. Treatment if I do.
A heartworm test. Treatment if I am positive for heart worms
BLOODWORK to make sure my liver and kidneys are working well, because you know, we doggies often have issues in the liver and kidneys.
A DENTAL exam AND cleaning if I needed it- yep, all my toofies are checked out.
See, that's a LOT. Ask your vet - that's a LOT.
