My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi I'm Baron! As you can see, I am a gorgeous Tricolor Cavalier.  I am about 2 years old, weigh 16 pounds, and act like a puppy with lots of energy and exuberance.

Playing with toys, chasing butterflies, and romping in the backyard with my foster Mom’s Cavalier is my idea of fun.  I am completely housetrained and I know some basic obedience commands.  I love going for walks and get along well with cats and other dogs once I get to know them.  I love to run like a gazelle so having a fenced in back yard is pretty important to me.  Once I get to know you, I am loving and friendly.  I am crate trained but like to sleep in the big bed at night.  I am very loyal and promise to follow you from room to room. That’s the good news.  

Since I was never socialized as a puppy and did not have anyone to love and comfort me before I entered Cavalier Rescue of Florida, I do have some fear- based issues to work on, especially learning not to bark at strangers and noises I am not used to.  Children scare the heck out of me so I would rather not be around them.  I’ve made lots of progress with my fear-based issues while living with my foster Mom and her two calm Cavaliers.  I am looking for someone who is extremely patient, lives in a super calm environment, promises to spend lots of time with me, and will continue with positive dog training and socialization.

Some  minimum adoption requirements for Baron include:

  • Fenced in yard
  • Young dog to play with
  • Home most of the time
  • No children
  • Willing  to work on socialization and fear of people
  • Experience with fear based barking issues

Baron is being fostered in the Gainesville area and his adoption fee is $500.
