My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Zeek is 6 years old and weighs 9.9 pounds. He is bonded with Zack. Their adoption fee is $400 and includes all vetting (neuter/spay, dental cleaning, immunizations, microchip and chip registration).  A Vet reference, personal references, and home visit are required for adoption. You may apply to adopt them by going to our website at www.unitedyorkierescue.org and completing the adoption application located on our home page.

UPDATED BIO 07/18/2017: Hi every pawdy! It's us again, Zeek and Zack. Our bios are together because so are we. If you are looking at one of us, then you are looking at the other one. We have been together our whole lives and we come as a twosome – that means you get both of us.

Here’s a little bit about Zeek. He is a cutie pie for sure. He loves to squeak a toy and loves to be loved. Zeek gets along well with the resident pups and loves Zack very much. He is also great when taking a bath, and all aspects of grooming. Zeek needs a fenced yard since he likes to race around and get his exercise. He is just an all-around camper.

Here’s a little bit about Zack. Like Zeek, he also likes a squeak toy and being loved. Zack is the more laid-back one of the twosome. Zack is also great in the bath and a good boy all around He is the first one to the sofa on movie night. Some call him a couch potato but I would like to think of him as a movie expert.

From Foster Mom: Some say two doggies are double trouble. But with these two, it is double the love. Some say they will be lucky to get a good home. No, their adopters will be the lucky ones to get these two boys.

I really can't say enough good things about these boys. But I will say this.

Anyone lucky enough to get these boys will hit the jackpot. They are real treasures for sure.

UPDATED BIO 05/17/2017: Hi, my name is Zeek and I am the sweetest boy I know! That's not just me saying that, my Foster Mom and Dad say that, too! I do have to be introduced to new fur friends slowly. But once we are friends

we are friends for life.

I enjoy playing with squeak toys and being with my people. I do need a fenced yard for the following reasons - #1. I don't really like the leash, I like running around in the yard with my brother Zack. If I have to walk on the leash, I will but I would rather not. #2. I really don't care to meet new pups that are not part of my family – I’m a real family guy.

I must be adopted with Zack because he is my best friend and that will never change. So if you’re looking for perfection, I'm it! And Zack isn't too bad, either. We’ve been waiting a long time for you to find us………..

UPDATED BIO 04/09/2017: Hi everpawdy, Zeek here. I am still patiently waiting for the right home for me and my brother Zack. I’m all ready to go to my forever home with him. Zack and I have had all our vaccinations and even had dentals. You see, Zack and I love each other very much and it wouldn't be possible for us to be apart. We have been together from the start and just couldn't ever bear to be separated.

We are quite the pair. As you know already, I am the good one. Yep, Zack has to act like a fool sometimes and get us both in trouble. He sometimes gets crazy outside and then he gets me all worked up. I guess we just like being home. It's a scary world out there. But having me would far outweigh any antics Zack may try, lol. Two things I really like – 1) I do enjoy a squeaky toy, and 2) I like to watch movies with my person. Yep, I do.

I do have what some consider a minor “situation”. You see, I am really not very happy about other doggies – well, you know, other than my brother Zack. I don't really know why because I also get along just fine with my foster brothers and sister – it took a few days for us to get to know one another, but hey, that happens to everypuppy, right? I guess maybe I am afraid that others may try to hurt my person or Zack. Foster Mom thinks that we would be perfectly content to be the only two doggies in your home, you know, since we wouldn’t want another dog to feel left-out of our brotherly bond. We are very kind-hearted like that.

Zack and I are not big fans of the leash, either. And it’s these two “situations” that led Foster Mom to say that Zack and I will need a home that has a fenced-in yard. A nice one, please. Zack and I love to run around and play. This doesn’t mean that you can never walk me on a leash, it will just take a lot of repetition and remindin’ me of what you expect of me, but in a kind and gentle way.

I am really a perfect gentleman. I am a good eater, I do my business where I’m supposed to, and I listen really well to my Foster Mom. I’m just very picky about meeting other dogs when I’m outside on the leash. Do you think you could still love me? I know I could love you – a lot. Could you give me and my brother another chance at a loving home?

UPDATED BIO 03/07/2017: Hi, Zeek here! I know you have been curious about me, right? Thanks! I'm here in my foster home with my brother Zack. We have been together since the day we were born and need to stay together since Zack couldn't handle life without me. I really like the girl resident doggie here, but she doesn't seem too interested in me - bummer. I can't imagine why since I am such a sweetheart. I think Zack may have said something about me, hehe! You will be happy to know that I am house-trained and go out in the backyard or on a pee-pee pad. Well, every now and then there is an accident - but I think it is Zack that does it. I like to play with a toy or just hang out with the rest of the crew. Me and Zack are ready to go to our forever home. We have had all our vaccinations, a dental, a microchip and even got fixed. Neither of us knew we were broken! Oh well, you can complete an adoption application for us and maybe it will be your lucky day. It sure would be our's. Initial bio 2/12/17: Zeek and his brother Zack just arrived at their foster home. They have been together since birth and are very bonded to each other. Zeek and Zack will need to be adopted together. Zeek and his brother are possibly Shih Tzu/Yorkie mixes. Their foster mom is just getting to know them so we don't yet know a lot about them.. What we do know is they will need all their vetting and they will need to be neutered. Zeek is the more independent of the two, but when they are together they love to cuddle up together and kiss each other. As much as these boys love each other they also love their people. They do not do well on a leash yet, but they were great in the long car ride to their foster home. They slept together in their crate the whole time with not a whimper or bark. More will be coming on Zeek and his brother Zack as their foster parents get to know them better.
