July 2017: We couldn't love this boy more! He is a big sweetie who is sensitive, beautiful and so much fun! He is the dad to the “Avenger puppies” who came to us a few months ago. They all got adopted (Scarlett, Spidey, Stark and the others!) Hank is just as sweet as all his babies.
Hank appears to be a Redbone Coonhound and he is a Hound through and through, with some typical stubbornness, like when he's sure he has treed something in the backyard. NO CATS for this boy! He is an awesome dude and a big lug at 85 lbs. He gets along with dogs of all shapes and sizes as long as food is not involved. Like many rescue dogs, he has probably had to fight for food at some point and so he is a little too protective over it. Once he bonds with a human, he bonds strongly and might try to protect his person, so we have placed Hank with a trainer to get some evaluation information and some tips on how his new family needs to work with him. We wouldn't place Hank with small children but older kids who can work with him too would be great. He is an oversized snuggle bunny for sure!
