Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Jasper is a sweet and very affectionate 10 year old who wants nothing more than to share your lap and let you know how much he loves you. Jasper was up for adoption at Palm Beach County Animal Care & Control (ACC) and we were his last resort. The term "last resort" means if we did not foster him then there was a high chance that Jasper would be euthanized. We got the call that Jasper needed immediate foster for an upper respiratory infection and since he is a senior black cat we knew his time was running out. We pulled Jasper and nursed him back to health but noticed that he was really happy outside of the shelter environment. Because Jasper had made so much progress in the two weeks that we'd been fostering him, we asked ACC if we could continue to foster him until a permanent home was found.
He has been with us since August 2016 and he's been nothing short of amazing. He shows his affection through purring, head bonks, kneading, kisses, and lots and lots of lap time. Jasper has excellent litter box habits and enjoys hanging out in his favorite cat bed. He does not jump on counters or scratch up furniture (he loves his scratching posts!). Jasper is very low maintenance and does not require all of the attention that a high-energy kitten would. He also loves catnip and his wet cat food.
He seems indifferent to other animals and tends to avoid them. If you are patient with the introduction process then he should be okay with your current residents. We believe because of the amount of affection Jasper shows he should go to an experienced cat lover. If you have children, it would be best if they are over 13 years old.
Jasper is a 10 year old black cat. Since he entered the shelter the odds have been stacked against him. Can you show him that there is someone out there who will give him a safe and loving home to retire to? That there is someone who will give him the life he has always deserved?
