Behavioral issue

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:


Gus is 14. He does not have behavioral issues other than he or his brother has started using blankets, dirty clothes, bath towels or out bed as his litter box. We are not sure which one or if both are the guilty party. The litter box is cleaned daily and changed weekly. The behavior change has been gradual, and we are not sure of the cause. Neither cat is ill, lethargic, or aggressive. We have been dealing with this issue for some time, and have lost hope of curing the problem.
