My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Sammy is a sweet senior hoping for a forever home where he can be loved and spoiled. He is estimated to be between 10-13 years of age. Someone who is home a lot and with no dogs or ones that are well-behaved would be perfect for him.

Given his age and size, a home with small children would not be suitable. He was malnourished and after a major dental, is now gaining weight and happy to eat. He currently eats several times a day and can be a little picky until coaxed. He walks perfectly on a leash; and is an expert at napping. He potties outside and will mark inside if not taken out on a regular basis. He is content in a crate but prefers to be out next to me on a soft blanket or curled up in his bed. He is fine with other dogs (big and little) but will move to be away from them. More of a protective move given he is rather fragile and only 4(+) pounds. He is deaf (maybe can hear a little) and has cataracts but still seems to see fine. He isn't a playful-go-fetch kinda' guy, but gives tail wags when I get on the floor with him. He may get more animated as time goes on. He must have been fed from the table because that's when he is the most alert - when I'm eating! His photos tell the rest of the story - adorabble! The last photo is from when he was rescued from the shelter. Sammy is being fostered in Palm Springs.
