My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi my name is Brody. I'm a handsome lad if I say so myself, at least that's what everyone tells me. I'm just over 2 years old, as playful as a puppy, and healthy. My foster parents tell me I'm a very special boy with very special needs. You see I came from a pretty rough background. While no one knows all the details for sure, it's believed I came from a puppy mill where I had no socialization or normal upbringing. That's caused me to be extremely wary of new people, places and things. Trusting people is probably the hardest part for me and bravery is not my strong suit. But I'm trying.

​Every day brings new and positive experiences. I'm learning about love, trust and the good things in life. I know my favorite things in life are toys, lots and lots of toys. Oh and I love to run around like a wild gazelle in the yard. But the most important part of my rehabilitation is having my confident foster brothers and sister around. I rely on them to know what's okay and when to be brave.

So for many of you thinking about adopting me, please consider that there a few MUST HAVES for me. Those include:

  • Secured, fully fenced in yard
  • Similarly aged and sized playmate(s)
  • Someone who’s home most of the time
  • Adult only home
  • Adopters experienced with skiddish, unsocialized dogs preferred.

It's important for everyone to know that I will only be adopted by someone who's the RIGHT match for my needs, no matter how long it takes. I need a person(s) who will have lots of patience and will be okay with my good days and not so good days. In the end I have nothing but love to give. But it will just take me time to show it.
