My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Three year old Bananas was found taking refuge from the freezing winter inside a metal shop in Queens. He had injured his back paws and nearly skinned them raw. Bloody paw prints led us to his hiding spot under cardboard boxes. He was very weak, skin and bones at a mere 8 lbs (he is now a healthy 16 lbs for his frame) and covered in dirt. Yet from the moment we found him, Bananas loved people. He was probably a housecat who was thrown out by his previous owners and was desperately trying to survive outside on his own.

We brought him to the vet to treat his wounds and nursed him back to health. Bananas is now healthy and ready for a forever home--his wounds have healed, he was neutered, microchipped and vaccinated.

Bananas has been staying in an office at the metal shop, but with all of the equipment and sharp metal it just isn't a safe place for him. He also really needs a stable loving family because he always comes to you and wants to be petted. Bananas is a sweet little boy - he has never hissed or tried to scratch - and he is extra special with his extra toes (polydactyl)!

He enjoys a nice head rub and stretching out nice and long with his belly in the air. Despite everything that has happened to him, he still shows a strong trust in people and would make a great companion. Give him a chance and he will shower you with his love and purrs.
