My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Bandit, an Australian Cattle Dog mix, who was transferred to Animatch from a rescue in Kentucky. Bandit is on the lookout for an energetic family – one who would enjoy participating in dog sports would be his dream come true. If agility or herding are activities that you have always wanted to attempt, he would be a keen participant. He is in his glory when he is outdoors, although he hasn’t gone through a Canadian winter yet Bandit has already learned to walk on leash with his “Easy-Walk” harness but obedience training to reinforce his basic commands would be an added advantage. Obedience training and its benefits – for human, as well as dog -- should never be underestimated. He will need plenty of opportunities to vent his energy with a few walks and runs every day. In fact, it is an experience to watch him have a case of the “zoomies” when he feels he must release some pent-up energy. Since there is some herding dog in his mix, he may be too much for young children. He is not particularly drawn to other dogs and would perhaps enjoy being your one and only. This beautiful boy is ready to devote himself heart and soul to his new family. Would it be yours? Help make a huge difference in this deserving dog’s life. Fill in the Adoption Form and ask for BANDIT.

UPDATE – May 30: Animatch felt that Bandit would benefit form a little one-on-one attention so that we could really see that personality shine through. For the past few weeks he has been with his Foster Mom who feels that Bandit is making tremendous progress – he continues to walk well with his “Easy-Walk”, his recall is improving, and he tolerates other dogs. Bandit is not destructive when alone and does not have to be crated; however, he does use his crate when he feels like some quiet time. He will require daily walks and some playtime but his Foster Mom feels that he has medium energy. Bandit is an all-around good dog who is ready to take the next step to a forever home.
