My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Anya (f)  12lb, 2 years old Poodle  Adoption fee $350
Anya is a sweet girl who was probably being used as a backyard breeder.  She loves people, and wants to be next to you or on your lap.  She sometimes is jealous of other female dogs who try to horn in on the love—but not always—and she doesn’t mind boy dogs doing the same.  She is very sweet, and very correctable—she reacts quickly to correction, and will sometimes grovel when she thinks she is in trouble.  She will love being a cherished family member.  Her biggest fault is when another dog comes close when she is eating—she reacts quickly, snarling and snapping at them, but once they back off, she goes back to eating.  If she lives with another dog, they should be fed separately, preferably in separate rooms.  She has good reason to be so touchy.  I believe she was fed the same amount of food whether she was between litters, pregnant, or nursing.  She was beyond skinny when I got her—more like emaciated.  She has gained over 2 lbs since I got her and she is still thin.

When she was spayed, the vet had to do a medical shave down. So she is not looking her best. Her multi-color skin shows through her extreme summer cut.  But with some love and time to regrow,  her pretty face will shine through on you.

Dogs are vaccinated, microchipped  and spayed/neutered before adoption.
The necessary first step to inquire about any dog, is to complete the NCPR Adoption Interest Form. Once we receive the NCPR Adoption Interest Form, a volunteer will contact you promptly. We need your information to match you with the perfect companion. NorCal Poodle Rescue places dogs within northern California only.
