My story

Twinkie comes to us without a known past but her future looks bright in her search for a forever home. She adores her people and will nuzzle up into their neck and purr. She will sit on your lap and watch TV with you; in fact she may enjoy it more than you do. She doesn't share well and needs to be an only cat. She also needs an experienced cat owner who can be patient as her past has left scars and she needs to learn to fully trust again. She would be happiest with just her and her guardian but she will allow other people in her home and personal space as long as they are mature. No dogs for this girl either. Since we make a lifetime commitment to any animal that comes into our program, we only adopt out animals to people in our area..

If you are interested in adopting a CAWS cat or dog, please fill out the online application at http://www.caws.org/application/, email adopt@caws.org or call 328-4731. For the most timely response applying online is recommended.

We respond as quickly as possible but as we are a volunteer based organization and do not have full time staff, we respond as quickly as possible.

CAWS does not have a conventional shelter facility - all CAWS animals waiting for adoption are in foster homes. The number of animals we can help find new homes for is closely linked to how many CAWS foster homes are available. CAWS volunteers bring cats and dogs to the PetSmart near 2100 South and 300 West in South Salt Lake on the third and fourth weekends of each month

We are also at the Sugarhouse PETCO (1165 Wilmington Ave) the first Saturday of each month.
