My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

~BONDED PAIR, adoption fee applies; if serious about adoption please email caarescue@gmail.com~

My name is Touti. Me and my brother from another mother Bunker were surrendered to the Montreal SPCA because our family was moving and could not take us with them. I was having a real hard time at the SPCA, and was really scared so they thought a foster based rescue would be better for us and contacted CAA Rescue. As soon as our now foster mom saw that we needed help she hopped immediately into the car to come get us and boy-oh-boy we are so happy she did!
Even though I am only 3.5 lbs know that I feel like the size of an elephant some days with my bossiness!
We are a bonded pair and must be adopted and stay together; you can read Bunker’s profile here: http://www.adoptapet.com/pet/18219966-pierrefonds-quebec-chihuahua-mix

I am house trained; I will do my business outside when I am outside or on pee pad when stuck inside… that being said when I am angry with my foster mama for talking too much to the Aliens and she is not looking I can mark the same old chair leg in defiance.
I am your typical Chihuahua though and will pretty much bark at any point and time that I feel justified… like: when other dogs start barking (I have no idea why they are barking but I am barking not with them but at them), when the doorbell rings or a stranger enters the home and when I am HUNGRY! I may be small but my belly knows dinner time!!! I will bark and spin around in a million circles until you give me my food, it is cute the first couple of times but trust me after going through that a few times you will never ever be late for my dinner time again!
I absolutely LOVE my walks… no need to carry me around. Daily walks and running in the grass are my most favorite things to do. I am perfectly leash trained and have excellent recall off leash
We have been left alone for a maximum of 5 hours and while we were totally not happy about it we nestled into our crate and waited for Foster Mama to return, the crate door was left open and we just snuggled inside. I really do like having a crate around so that I can sneak off and sleep quietly sometimes. There was no destruction or anxiety in my foster home
I live with other dogs in my foster home both VERY big and medium size and of course my brother so I am dog friendly but I really hate poorly mannered canine citizens who are all too excited and barking nervous all up in my face. I will growl and snap and I should not be left on the ground with poorly mannered large breeds or strange dogs because this will be a recipe for disaster and ultimately I will pay a HUGE price.
We live with cats in foster care as well and I am fine with them for the most part… I would just prefer if my foster mama gave me all the attention
And while I have met some kids I think it would probably be best if we had a home without children to live in. Because I can snap and nip… to adult hands it is not that big a deal my mouth is so tiny but to like baby fingers and toes wellllllllllll let’s just say better in a home with no children.
Oh & the best part about me and my brother, Bunker? We absolutely LOVE car rides and being so itty bitty in size I can pretty much go anywhere with you.
While I show no possession or aggression I do like to steal everyone else’s food so I should be fed separately
If you come to visit us please don’t be upset if we are not too friendly at first; just watch us with our foster mom and you will see what life can be like with us. In fact be extra cautious with me as you will typically not be able to handle or manipulate me because I will snap and nip you. Give me 5 to 10 minutes at our meeting to warm up to you but typically I do have a thing for the ladies and tend to warm up quickly to them :)
It will take us some time to adjust to new people; just like it took us time to adjust to our foster mom. Chihuahuas are very loyal to one person and when we lose that one person it takes time for us to get over that loss and learn to trust again. But it is possible and you can just ask my foster mom; she is a self-titled Chihuahua Baby LaLa Expert ;)
This is what my foster mom has to say about me: he has huge character, he is little so I can put him in my pocket. He is very courageous little guy, he is not afraid to walk 3 miles with big dogs. Touti cannot go down stairs he can only go up them, he is too little and he is afraid; I am still trying to teach him but he might require little ramp to go down the stairs.
Touti and Bunker, play together, sleep together, they are always together, walk together outside and run off leash together in the field. When Bunker is not around Touti cries to call him back. Both Touti and Bunker should not be taken to big dog park and to be exposed to big strange dogs or to be around big dogs they don't know, Touti snaps at them and Bunker protects him so they become two against one!
P.S. They are the best chis I had so far, very cool buddies, both of them , they also need rules, as they are both little bossy :)
