My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Avery is an Old English Sheepdog. She is about 4-5 years old. Avery did not have the best life prior to coming into rescue. Despite her previous life, she is a really nice dog. She has lots of energy so she will need to go to a home that is active. She gets along with the other rescue dogs. Overall, she does well on a leash. She is 73 pounds of love.

Avery has Diabetes Insipidus not to be confused with Diabetes Mellitus (insulin dependent diabetes). This affects water metabolism. She takes Vasopressin eye drops for this condition twice per day. Avery has dysplastic hips, but our vet does not recommend any surgery at this time as it is hardly noticeable. However, she may experience arthritis at an older age. She isspayed, current on vaccinations, heartworm negative and on heartworm prevention.

It is our rescue policy that we adopt to homes with children over 12 years of age, and previous dog owners.

The total adoption cost of $250 includes the required interstate health certificate and transport , spay/neuter, shots including rabies, bordatella, parvo, lepto, distemper and canine influenza, and micro chip with a lifetime pre paid registration . The total amount is payable to Shaggy Dog Rescue which is a 501c3. All our dogs are in foster care, there is no physical shelter.
