My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello there! My name is Howie and if you are looking for an inquisitive social butterfly to be your new best friend forever you are in luck because I am available for adoption through Fetching Tails Foundation! I am a 2-year-old terrier mix, and since I am a small 6-pound lovebug, I can happily tag along on all of life's adventures! I have a fun blonde coat (Blondes have more fun, right? Right!), and adorable chocolate-brown eyes. I also have giant silly ears, but I think it is for the best because I love to listen to you tell me stories about your day!

I was found on the streets and brought to Chicago Animal Care & Control. Fetching Tails scooped me up, and I have been having the best time ever with my foster parents while I wait for my forever home. I am a good dog who learns quickly. I am working on my sit and and lay down commands. I am so eager to learn. I love to talk to people as soon as I meet them. It seems like I am just randomly barking at them but I truly want to get to know everyone and tell them who I am so they get to know my great personality. As soon as a human pets me I am in love with them forever. I am even good with human kiddos! I tend to want to be the head dog in charge no matter the size. I love to spend time outside and the best thing in the world is going for long walks on a warm day. One of my favorite things to do is to sit in my foster's lap and have my belly rubbed; that is better than vanilla ice cream, trust me! When you do that I love to reward you with lots of ear kisses!

I am ok with being crated in my bedroom while my foster parents have to go to work so they can buy me more treats and toys. I am also potty trained. I do like to play but during the evening I like to sit on the couch and watch HGTV with my foster mom and Star Trek with my foster dad. Don't tell my foster mom but I am a big trekkie fan.

So what do you think? I sound pretty incredible, don't I? If you like an itty-bitty dog who likes to go for walks and loves to snuggle, I am definitely the dog for you. Please get in touch with my human friends at Fetching Tails soon and tell them Howie is the dog for you! If I could offer a humble suggestion, I think it would be great if we could meet one-on-one; I get a bit overwhelmed at the super busy adoption shows and don't always show off my amazing, fun personality. But my foster mommy and daddy say they are happy to arrange a meeting so we can get to know each other in a calmer setting. So let's set up a date, soon, ok? Great!

Love and kisses,
Howie
