MONTE is a two-year-old grey and white male cat. Monte was surviving on the streets in an inner-city neighborhood, and he was very thin and very hungry. In Monte’s eyes lurk uncertainty about his future, and we reassure him constantly that he’s safe, and warm, and we have plenty of food! Monte loves to be petted, and you can see him relax under your gentle ministrations. He loves the attention, and will roll over and wave his paws at you. Monte loves to play, and likes other cats. Once he feels safe, Monte’s happy-go-lucky personality blossoms. We can’t wait to see him in his forever home, we’re betting he’s going to be a great lap cat and an affectionate companion!
At PAAWS RI, all of the cats that come into our care are spayed/neutered, receive a rabies vaccination, distemper vaccinations, de-worming, flea treatment, microchipping, testing for Feline Leukemia/FIV, and a fecal test.

Our shelter is located in the Care for Animals veterinary hospital, at 2944 Post Road, Warwick, RI 02886. You are welcome to visit during the following hours: Monday and Tuesday 8 am to 5 pm, Wednesday 12 pm to 7 pm, Thursday 8 am to 5 pm, and Friday 9 am to 1 pm. Very young kittens are in foster homes, not at the shelter. If you are interested in adopting a young kitten please fill out our adoption application.
We have an Adoption Open House every Saturday from 10 am to 12 noon -- hope to see you there! We're also happy to set up appointments.
