My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

WE ARE SORRY BUT WE ONLY ADOPT WITHIN THE STATE OF FLORIDA

Nikita is a gorgeous red-headed Husky girl with compelling amber eyes. She has a sweet disposition but likes to be in charge when it comes to other dogs.

The easy way out would be for her to be adopted into a home with no other dogs and gradually get socialized with trips to the dog park to meet and greet other neighborhood dogs
.
Nikita could do well in a home with other less dominant dogs so long as she had an experienced owner to work with her. When it comes to other dogs and young children she has shown some resource guarding when it comes to food, toys, and her space. This behavior can be mitigated with training but we feel she would do best in a home without young children. Her exuberance alone could lead her to knocking over toddlers just by being playful.

This girl is affectionate, loving and walks well on lead - for the most part. When she starts to pull and you correct her she will back off and walk without pulling, unless a squirrel or other small animal catches her eye, then it’s up to you to hold her in check. She listens well upon correction.

She does not like to be crated and, as do most Huskies, may do well un-crated, but that will need to be determined by her new human(s).

Nikita is healthy, Heartworm negative, housebroken, up-to-date on vaccines, spayed and microchipped. This eye catching girl is still young enough to learn to become the loyal, affectionate dog you always wanted in your life.
