Are you looking for a young, high energy, alert pup? That would be Bailey! He was born in September, 2015 and is a Shih-Tzu / Bichon mix. He is mostly white, with brown and tan-black markings and has luxurious curly hair. He weighs 18 pounds and is in great athletic shape.
Bailey’s main focus involves playing: he loves to chew his toys, will play tug-pull and fetch with you, runs around the house when excited, encouraging you to play, and will do the Shih Tzu 500 in a fenced back yard. He is very affectionate, friendly and loveable, but would benefit from training to help him control some of his impulsiveness. He is a quick learner, and he is responding to word commands in his foster home. In addition to continued training, Bailey needs to have a positive outlet for his energy and would do well in a home with a fenced-in yard and with someone who will participate in his active play. Due to his high energy, this youthful dog should have several fast-paced walks/runs per day, some being at least a mile or two. Bailey is playful but well-behaved at dog parks. He likes both men and women, and older kids. He would not do well with small children, or in a home where small children visit regularly. He is known to tolerate cats. Bailey is housetrained and sleeps at night in his kennel, and goes in when tired or on command. Just say “Kennel up, Bailey!”.
Bailey is in great health, neutered, current on vaccinations, microchipped, and on heartworm and flea/tick preventative. His adoption fee is $396.92 ($370.00 adoption fee plus $26.92 sales tax). His foster mom would like his future adopters to live within a 50 mile radius of Rosemount, MN and also encourages them to attend the Shih Tzu Rescue Reunion each year.
