Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Jasper is a Siberian husky that I acquired 3 yrs ago through a friend. He is without a doubt an outstanding, amazing, affectionate, fun dog with a very unique personality.
I never intended to re-home my dog, he has a very therapeutic vibe to him and the bond I share with him is strong. So I'm looking for a home where someone can give him he attention, love, and exercise that he needs daily.
He is a pure bred, on the larger scale, and needs daily walks. He needs a home/family that is understanding and patient, because there will be days he may decide to play the escape artist and take himself for a walk. He has a lot of quirks and funny little habits, behaves very well, and once you develop a friendship with him you'll notice how smart he actually is and goes out of his way to make you laugh.
He eats very well, so I am also looking for someone who is able keep him on a wholesome/organic/or blue buffalo diet.
He needs an experienced, responsible dog owner, who can provide for him. If you are a first time dog owner I strongly advise that Jasper is not the dog for you, or any husky really as they require a lot of patience, love, kindness and tons of exercise.
Jasper is micro chipped though his information has never been updated as he has always come back when I called him home, I would suggest for a new pet owner to update his tags and info via chip asap as he takes a little bit to become adjusted to listening to a new person.
He is a Siberian Husky so I have always taken him for walks at the cooler parts of the day with the exception of fall and winter, when I would usually take him hiking. He has been off leash trained with me but I would suggest more training with it before attempting it with him.
He really needs a patient hand, some one who can provide for him lots of toys and dog bones to keep him busy when bored, a firm but loving hand so he can adjust well, and he can be nervous in crates, so someone who has the time to train him well. He can be trusted around your home and possessions if he is with a responsible owner who understands that Huskies require daily exercise and stimuli to keep them from getting bored, or frustrated.
He has an amazing personality, his coat is brown and white but part of the reason I named him Jasper is the red hue that glows in his summertime coat. He requires grooming as he is a husky and will blow his coat twice a year. NEVER shave a husky, or cut more hair off a husky than a typical groom as it is damaging to the breeds skin. Despite the heat, huskies actually adapt very well to the environment they live in so as long as he isn't being walked in 90 degree weather, he can have his days in the sun. (Lot's of water.)
Jasper loves soft serve ice cream, cuddling, hiking, kids, is afraid of socks, dislikes bath time, digging up flower beds, hugs, squeaky toys, and kisses (right on the muzzle, he won't lick!) He's a special dog even for his breed, he stands out amongst others. He's also a total stud, very handsome and will use it to his advantage, as he knows this, to get what he wants.
He's awesome. He needs an equally awesome owner, and PERMANENT home.
