My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Bessie is our medium sized Lab in an Extra Large Body.  Bessie is about 7 years old now and is looking for a home that will keep her on her weight loss diet so that she can be healthy and enjoy the rest of her life.  Bessie came into us extremely overweight and in need of a major reduction in weight.  This girl is on a strict diet and exercise routine and seems to be doing well on it.  She will need a home that won’t give in to those beautiful brown eyes and give her extra treats or extra food that will inhibit her weight loss.  Since she is at her new foster home she is doing very well on her weight loss regimen and seems to be melting the pounds off.  Bessie does well with other dogs and with cats and will do well in a home with respectful kids.  She is a little bit older and does not appreciate being sat on or squished by kids or other dogs.  Bessie is fostering now at a day camp and is doing great playing ball and loves to swim and go out exploring.  Bessie is in need of leash training and would do best with a Halti or head harness for walking.  If you are looking for a sweet girl who is down on her luck and will need a lot of exercise then this is your girl.  Note: Please fill out an application and a volunteer will contact you within 1-2 business days.  We do not have a central office facility, all of our pets are housed in foster homes until they are adopted.  Your first step in adopting a furry friend is to go to our website www.rainbowrescues.org and fill out an application.
