Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Hi, I’m MONKEY,
My back-story is a sad one....I was found playing with two other dogs at a busy intersection in Los Angeles. Cars honked and missed hitting me multiple times. My owners were located down the street, but they did not care for me. An attempt was made to return me to them, but less than five minutes later I was out on the street again. When I saw my male owner, I couldn't help, but shake out of fear--a reaction I didn't have to anyone else. The shaking was followed by a "You want her? Take her... We got her as a present for the kids..."
Little did I know that my world would completely change that day. I left and never looked back. I went from being an unsupervised, uncared for, and neglected pup to one lucky girl with the care of my foster mom who rescued me.
She tells me that I'm a happy, energetic 2-3 year old who is housetrained and receptive to commands. We love being active at parks and hikes. Did you know that I can keep up with her for 4-mile jogs?
I love playing with any and all dogs--big or little! Watch me play rope tug with other dogs. I also have learned to play alone; Watch my playful puppy antics when I throw around my favorite stuffed soft toys.
I'm a little timid with strangers, so I like to do a pre-inspection on new people that I meet. After you pass my "sniff test", I'll greet you happily and you'll see tail wags. Make me yours and I will be one loyal little shadow pup who will happily greet you with a tail wag, spin, and a hop or two when you come home.
You'll love my unique looks. Your guess is as good as mine for my breed. I'm possibly a terrier mix because of my long, sleek legs and ability to run super fast, but could also have basenji in me with my characteristic curly tail.
Because I'm small and sensitive and selective to new human friends, a home without little kids is best.
I'm ready for my forever family---already spayed, dewormed, and current on vaccines.
For my forever home, my foster mom is willing to bring me to your place in the San Fernando Valley or even Ventura County or Santa Barbara County.
