Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Matthew is a large tabby, the kind I have always called a "Brooklyn Tiger Cat" since my own Brooklyn childhood. I now trap/neuter/return in this neighborhood where I grew up.
I picked up Matthew in the schoolyard where I once played double dutch and marbles as a kid.
Matthew appears to be an abandoned house cat. Friendly, he loves to be petted around his face and chin. He purrs with gentle affection. Since his rescue, Matthew has discovered the pleasures of being a lap cat. He sits quietly and purrs, not even moving. When I hold him, I almost feel his sense of relief at being in a safe place.
He has a good appetite, and eats wet and dry food. He uses the litter box. Matthew never seems bothered by anything. He is clean, well-groomed, and ready for his new home.
He will make a wonderful pet!
Currently he is living in a large kitty condo and can be lifted up and placed in and out of it. He is totally handle-able. When he lived outside, he was in a colony with six other spay/neutered cats. He is accustomed to sharing his food and shelter with other cats.
Matthew was living in the schoolyard of a Catholic school on Pine Street in Cypress Hills, in the East New York section of Brooklyn. He was first spay-neutered in December of 2016, and returned as a TNR. At this time we have discovered his friendly nature when he let us put him into a carrier and take him to be vetted. We picked him up because his colony is currently endangered by changes in the parish administration.
He was fully vetted on July 7, 2017. He is vetted to be 24 months old. He is clean, well groomed and does not bite or scratch. If you would consider giving Matthew a home of his own, please call or text me at 646-772-1672. Ellen
