Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Starr is about 11 years old. Although he can be shy at first, he loves to get lots of attention. He is especially attached to his buddy, Stretch. They make a great pair!
Starr came to us from a colony near Annandale. He had developed a skin rash that seemed to flare up and cause him a lot of pain. We got him into a vet and they ran a number of test to see what may be causing the issue. It turned out that his living environment was contributing to the issue but even more importantly, he was allergic to grain in his food. Once we got him indoors and on a healthy diet. His skin cleared up and he has not had any skin issues since.
Even though Star’s health had improved dramatically with being indoors, he developed a urinary issue. He spent several days in the animal hospital and was able to come back to his foster home. Soon he was back into the hospital with a complete blockage. He required 24-hour care and had to have a specialized (PU) surgery to correct the issue. Now that he has fully recovered from the surgery, he is doing very well. We still recommend that he get canned food for most/all of his meals.
Starr has been neutered, vaccinated, tested for FeLV/FIV and microchipped. The adoption fee is $150 + tax.
* We are a foster-based rescue. If you are interested in meeting Stretch and Starr, please contact us for an adoption application and we would be happy to set up a meeting! *
