My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

MADDIE is 3 years old and 12#. Her adoption fee is $450 and includes all vetting (neuter/spay, dental cleaning, immunizations, microchip and chip registration).  A Vet reference, personal references, and home visit are required for adoption. You may apply to adopt DOG by going to our website at www.unitedyorkierescue.org and completing the adoption application located on our home page.

UPDATED BIO 07/12/2017: Maddie is a sweet Silky girl that loves to be hugged and kissed. She is an amazing dog and Foster Mom has nothing but great things to say her. Maddie’s perfect home would be a quiet one with lots and lots of love and attention. Maddie enjoys going for walks and belly rugs are her very favorite thing.

Maddie is absolutely beautiful and has the cutest face ever. Foster Mom said that she has doll-baby eyes and her eye lashes look like she is wearing fake eyelashes. She is a very loving little girl who will make her forever family extremely happy and entertained. Maddie gets along with other small dogs and with kids – but Foster Mom says they must be over 10 years old. Do you think you would be my perfect match? If so, please complete the adoption application for me.

UPDATED BIO 06/07/2017: Maddie here - I have some great news! My vet visit went great and I am a very healthy Silky girl. In a couple of days, I am going to be spayed and have my teeth cleaned.

I have been with a few different people during my short 3 years and now I really want to find my FOREVER home. I want to find a family that will love me and let me snuggle with them. I also like lots of bellyrubs ~ in return I will give lots of puppy kisses. I am a bit timid at first but will easily warm up to people and other dogs.

Foster Mom says I must have allowed to have table food in my previous homes. I am always begging to eat whatever she is eating. However, she makes sure that does not happen since table food can make me very sick. I am getting some really good food that is special for me. She even adds stuff to make it taste better. Oh My, I have been really spoiled here and I love it - who wouldn’t, right?

Foster Mom also calls me " little chaser" because I love running in the backyard and chasing squirrels and lizards. I feel so happy and free playing outside, so a home with a fenced backyard is a plus. Also, I prefer to do my business outside while I am exploring every single spot and smelling the grass and the plants.

I have been told that I am absolutely beautiful and have the cutest face ever. Foster Mom said that it looks like I have doll-baby eyes, and use fake eyelashes – what are fake eyelashes? I am a very loving little girl and will make my forever family extremely happy and entertained. I get along with small dogs and with kids – but Foster Mom says they must be over 10 years old.

Do you think you would be my perfect match? If so, please complete the adoption application for me.

Initial bio 6/3/17 Pretty Maddie arrived today at her foster home. She is a little unsure of things and needed a little time to settle down. Maddie did great in the car ride to her new home, but once there she was not sure of her new environment for a while, which is common. After a while, she realized this was a good, happy place, she ate some dinner and found her way to the couch for a nap.

Maddie's former owners found that Maddie was not good with their young grandchild, so most likely Maddie will need a home without young children. Maddie will be heading to the vet very soon for all her vaccinations and a complete well doggie check. She will need her spay and a possible dental. Maddie's foster parents will need a little time to get to know Maddie and know exactly the kind of forever home that would be just right for her.

More will be coming on Maddie soon after her vet visit. Applications are being accepted for Maddie, but she won't be able to be adopted until after her spay is done and healed, at least 2 or 3 more weeks.
