Facts about Freddie

  • Breed: Hound (Unknown Type)/Rottweiler Mix
  • Color: White
  • Age: Senior
  • Size: Large 61-100 lbs (28-45 kg)
  • Sex: Male
  • ID#: 9836178
Freddie is good with most large dogs but has not been around small ones. He LOVES to wrestle with dogs so he may be too much dog for toy breeds or geriatric ones. He is very strong and powerful but good natured. He should be fine with kids but keep in mind that a very large, strong and sometimes energetic dog is not always the best combination for very small, timid or easily frightened children. He does very well in a crate. He classifies cats in the same category as squirrels- both are considered prey items. No cats. He can scale a 6 foot privacy fence but seems to leave chain link alone. We are asking that his adopters have a tall secure fence and, especially at first, keep an eye on him when he is out in the yard. He has a slight independent streak in him so while he is friendly and likes attention he not overly needy or pushy. He does love to have his chest scratched and his ears rubbed so please make sure he gets told what a good boy he is daily!

About Animal Protection League

Our Adoption Process...

There is an adoption fee of $100 for all cats and kittens. All felines are tested for FIV and FeLV prior to adoption. Dog adoption fees range from $175-$225. All canines over the age of 6 months are tested for heartworms. All of our animals, regardless of species are spayed/neutered, vaccinated and microchipped prior to adoption.

Please feel free to email our shelter and request an adoption application for any of our animals! While it can be filled out in person at our shelter, many folks find it easier to fill one out ahead of time. Processing an application generally takes about a week.
