Shay is a loving,2-3 year old black lab who just wants a family to love. We brought her home after she had been rescued by a young woman with two children. She had been abused, was skinny and had lost much of her fur due to fleas. The problem was that the woman who first rescued her was renting and her landlord would not allow her to keep the dog. She was going to have to turn her over to a shelter and was afraid she would be euthanized. So we took Shay in hopes of finding her a new home. She has a sleek black coat now and is even a little pudgy due to extra treats. We cannot keep her because we already have 8 dogs of our own.
She loves children and is fine with other dogs. She is housebroken and current on her shots. Her only issue is that due to her mistreatment by her original owner, she is slow to warm up to new people. She does not growl or nip; she simply avoids until she gets to know you. Then, be ready because she just wants to give and get love.
