My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You may notice the heart shape on my nose, what you can't see in this picture is my huge heart. If there was ever a dog that was a total love bug, it's me, Daisy. I'm a charming 2.5 year old yellow lab who has yet to meet a person or dog that I don't love. My foster home consists of my foster dad and a crew of other dogs all ranging in age and size. I consider every one of those dogs my friends, and my foster dad says introducing me to his furry family, was as easy as can be. I'm have also been called an avoider of conflict. If any of my dog friends get too excited or play too rough, I immediately go over to my own safe spot. I'm in no way a timid or scared dog, I just know when it's time to have quiet Daisy time. I walk wonderfully on a leash and ride well in a car with other dogs or by myself. I also don't mind going into a crate but I certainly won't complain if you want me to sleep in your bed. Although I love playing with my foster canine friends, I'm also a pretty big couch potato. I would prefer watching movies on a Saturday afternoon instead of going on a long run or spending hours at the dog park. I'm waiting to find the perfect family who will wake me up with kisses, have enough comfy spots in the house for me to nap in, and will tell me everyday how pretty I am. Is that you?

All of our pets start their journey in Memphis, Tennessee where they remain in loving foster families until they are adopted.

In order to qualify for ALIVE’s program all of the following steps must be met: • You must be at least 24 years of age and be able to provide ALIVE with proof of age. • Any current pets must be up to date on vaccinations, and be spayed/neutered. Exceptions to this will only be considered if proof of a medical explanation is provided. • If you currently rent, you must provide a landlord’s phone number and a copy of your executed lease. • All members of the family living in the home where the animal will be placed must be interviewed. • Allow an ALIVE Rescue Memphis representative into your home for a visit to insure that your home is safe for the potential new dog or cat. • Be able and willing to spend the time and money necessary to provide training, medical treatment and proper care for a pet. • Currently, the requested donation to adopt a dog over 4 months of age is $250.00, a dog under 4 months of age is $275.00 and a cat is $150.00.

Our adoption application can be found at http://www.aliverescuememphis.org/adoptionapplication/

Due to the extremely high volume of inquiries we receive, we ask that you submit an application immediately to start the adoption process. We try very hard to include all pertinent information in our bios. We are excited to help you find your new family member. However, ALIVE Rescue Memphis is operated 100% by volunteers. We want to spend our time saving dogs and assisting those adopters who have taken the time to complete an application. Thank you for understanding.

Breed selection is done in conjunction with two local vets and is not to be considered a guarantee but rather a well educated decision from well qualified staff.
