Roy's Story...
Meet Roy... This sweet boy came to us from the euthanasia list at a local
high kill shelter where he was dumped after his owner had died. Poor Roy was covered in fleas and had a severe case of flea dermatitis when he came into our care. He truly was one big scab from scratching. After a good flea bath, flea meds and antibiotics his skin has improved dramatically. It's not inflamed anymore and the scabs are all but gone and he has lots of new hair growth. He will have a beautiful flowing coat in no time. Roy is the greatest little dog. He is house and kennel trained. He walks great on a leash and is good in a car. Great with dogs and cats. He's pretty mellow and loves to cuddle on the couch. He's around 5 years old and 12 lbs. Roy is utd, hw neg (tested below detectable levels) and neutered .

All dogs have a $150 adoption fee which includes vet check, age appropriate shots (atleast 2 sets for puppies), dewormer, heartworm test (if over 6 months), rabies (if atleast 16 weeks) and spay/neuter!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Roy, a Grand Bay Maltese dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Maltese for sale in Grand Bay, or seeking a Maltese dog from a breeder in Grand Bay.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Grand Bay already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Grand Bay breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Maltese breeders who help with Maltese rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Grand Bay paves the way for another one to be saved.
