Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Gentle Giant, laid back, regal and gorgeous. Rio is approx 6-7 years old, we don't know exactly how old because he was found as a stray and brought to the shelter and that is where we stepped in and rescued him. Rio is 110lbs.
The Dogo Argentino also known as the Argentine Mastiff is a unique breed and rare to find in rescue. Rio walks politely on the leash and travels well in the car. He loves to lay by your side and be with you. He loves to lay on the couch with you too. Rio is a very affectionate dog and he's always seeking a belly rub or wants to gaze into your eyes. With that said, we want Rio to be the only dog in the home. Not because he is aggressive or reactive, but simply we want a home that will give Rio one on one attention and spoil him. Rio is a soft dog, a sensitive dog and we want a home that is ready to appreciate these traits. We do however also prefer breed experience.
We also prefer a home with older kids, (no kids under ten) not because Rio does not like kids, just no small kids to agitate and or bring frustration to Rio. Yes, we are seeking something special and specific for Rio.
With Rio's adoption, there will be sponsored training by JD's Powerhouse K9 Bootcamp.

Rio's adoption fee is $350.00. He is neutered, microchipped and vaccinations are current.
