My story

Ziva Poor Ziva. We've had her almost 3 year now. This beautiful girl was first introduced to Angie after she had puppies and her former owners asked Angie for help with the pups. Originally, they were going to keep Ziva, but then decided it would be better to abandon her down by the Trinity. Of course, Angie couldn't let that happen, so Ziva joined Angie's Friends family. Ziva is sweet and loves people and kids. Ziva fosters with several other dogs and loves to play, but needs a slow introduction. She gets along with males and females. She's also a little protective of her toys. Like others of our larger dogs, she does need to learn some leash manners and how to channel her energy. She needs to learn she is not the leader and she will be calmer. Angie'sFriends will provide free training to her adopter. Est DOB: 6/2014 Vaccinated Spayed Crate trained Needs training Heartworm positive Loves people and kids Good with other dogs Absolutely NO CATS Ziva, Staffordshire Bull Terrier Mix has been shared from Shelter Exchange -

Adoption Process – Angie’s Friends
Terms and Conditions of Adoption

* Be at least 21 years of age with the responsibility of maintaining a household (no full time students)
* Have proof of current address and picture identification (driver’s license preferred)
* Have the consent and knowledge of all adults living in the household to adopt a pet
* Be able and willing to spend the time and money necessary to provide for the training, medical treatment and recommended veterinary care for the pet
* Have the resources to make a nonrefundable donation
* Agree to consider the pet as a member of the family and provide indoor shelter
* Understand that these pets are rescued from the streets and we cannot guarantee the health of the pet. They have all been to a veterinarian for vaccinations and testing, and require spaying and neutering prior to adoption.
* Place personal ID on the animal as soon as possible. We microchip and register all rescued animals.
* Provide an environment for the animal that keeps it safe and secure
* Complete an application, allow a home visit and reference checks
* Renters: If you rent or lease your home, we require a copy of the pet deposit receipt from the landlord or apartment complex prior to adoption.
* All adopted pets come with medical records, vaccination records, spay/neuter and microchip.
* We spend over $200 on each pet, which includes medical care, boarding and food. Your donation is not to pay for the medical care on the animal you are adopting; previous donations covered those costs. Your adoption fee allows us to continue our rescue and adoption efforts and is therefore is not refundable.

Angie’s Friends requires all pets in the adopting household be spayed or neutered, or the application will be denied.

More about this rescue

Angie's Friends is a 501(c)3 non-profit animal welfare organization established in 2008 for the sole purpose of aiding neglected and abused dogs in economically depressed neighborhoods of Dallas.

The organization is named for, and the grassroots work is done by, Angie Manriquez, who is known throughout the community as "The Fairy Dogmother of Dallas". Even though Angie's Friends was not formed until 2008, Angie has been carrying on her mission since 1999.
