My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Fran aka Pat #A1510522 from Miami Dade Animal Services (MDAS). She was posted on Urgent Dogs of Miami (UDOM) on February 27th, 2013 and her stray hold was to be up on March 5th, 2013. Sadly noone adopted her due to her non-contagious skin condition that's known as Demodex Mange. I guess many were freaked about it because I would be too at how raw and bloody it can leave a dog's skin but thankfully it wasn't at it's worst point but she very little amount of hair and was listed as a Chinese Sharpei mix since her skin had wrinkles. Anyways, noone showed interest in Adopting nor Fostering her. She sat there waiting and waiting, little would she have known that she was at the Highest Kill Shelter in Florida and on the Code Red list ready to be euthanized and tossed into a red bag and dropped off at the dump. And yes, this is the shelter who currently claims themselves as a No-Kill Shelter (their definition of no kill is 90% save/10% kill) but the numbers are still wrong not including returns... We saw her and we felt that she needed out asap so we acted fast and we placed a rescue hold and pulled her out under our rescue, Xtreme Rescue Inc on March 8th, 2013. From there we had people send in money under our rescue's vet account at Aussie Animal Hospital so we could pay for anything she needed incase she had more medical issues because we all know MDAS never has the proper equipment to fully check a dog out. So over time we treated her, took care of her skin condition with medicated baths and Ivermectin from the Feed Supply Store that we put in her food daily to help speed the process faster. Once she had no problems she was posted everywhere for adoption... yet noone showed interest or filled out an application for her. So the past 4+ years she has been waiting patiently for a home of her own in which we won't stop looking for one. If she lives her life out with us at least it was in a home where she is loved and sleeps in her doggie bed rather than at a kill shelter waiting for her time to be up. It just makes me sad that she won't get the proper love and care for an actual family. I want to find her that one special person who will love her for her and not care about how she always wants kisses or how she's not the perfect dog... I'm sorry but there is no "perfect dog". Every dog will do things he/she isn't supposed to do. And I want someone who won't care that she has pitty in her. She is the sweetest dog you will ever find! She loves kids, other dogs but I'm unsure about cats even if she doesn't pay attention to them but it's a safety precaution. But you get my point, she is a great dog who wants kisses, someone to rub her back and give her the attention she loves. She is a very laid back dog she sleeps most of the day and sometimes she'll play with the other dogs. She's great with my Miniature Pinscher and she is great with my Cane Corso. I've never had dog issues with her. She lets my Min Pin use her as a chest warmer basically it looks like a lizard on a rock lol. She's a tiny pitty and prefers a small dog bed to sleep in rather than the xtra large bed lol. If you are willing to give her a great furever home please pm us your email and I'll fwd you an adoption application. I know it's probably a long shot because she is 5-6 years old and usually everyone wants the younger dogs but it's worth a shot. She is one dog you will fall in love with. If you have any questions, please let me know I'll be more than happy to answer. If interested please email her foster mom at jesslyssa81@aol.com
