My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Taz is a Neutered, fully vaccinated, brindle, "Staffordshire mix". He weighs approximately 60 pounds, and is believed to be a couple months shy of two years old. Taz was found by Ft. Bend county in March of this year; but, by June he still had not found a home and promptly became one of 24 "Urgent" dogs, seeking a home. After two extensions, it became clear Taz's time was running out, and I feared he was going to be Euthanized. Having encountered Taz before at the shelter, his overly-friendly personality specifically broke my heart, he could not be put-down. Knowing I was planning on adopting another "Urgent" dog that was less likely of finding a home, I strived to help Taz, and I thought I did when an ex-coworker expressed interest in him. Being that I was already going to adopt another dog -and conflicting schedules- I told her I would adopt Taz for her. Everything went great for the first month, then I got a call saying Taz had been found, I returned him hesitantly with promises of "it wont happen again". A couple days later, he was found AGAIN, several towns away. From what I understand, she had been bouncing him around from family member to family member because she was having living-arrangement issues. Obviously, I could not allow this to go on, out of fear for Taz's safety, so I told her she was not getting Taz back and he has been with me ever since.

Taz is extremely friendly, and so so SOOO sweet. He loves people, his eagerness to please and learn after all he has been through completely amazes me. He has beautiful brindle markings that give him the appearance of a tiger, honestly? I think that is why I was so drawn to him. He does have quite a bit of Energy in him, which we are working on, and he is learning fast. I believe that has more to do with being happy he has a home, and people who love him. He gets along with other dogs, him and the dog I adopted are best friends. He listens the best when called, he comes immediately. Once he tires himself out, he will come lounge at my feet or rest his head in my lap. Our biggest issue with him is genuinely the fact that he just wants to be loved, and he loves to give love. He's a big fan of giving slobbery kisses. I currently have him outside during the day (we live in the country) and put him up at night, he does not mind being in his kennel and we have never had any potty accidents when he is in the house. He is very well behaved, aside from being a tad hyper, but he just gets excited. He would make a great addition to any family, especially one with older children or other dogs.

I want to keep Taz, I really really do; but, I have 6 other dogs and am in college and working. I realize it would be selfish of me, he deserves a home who can give him the love he craves and deserves. Although it breaks my heart to be typing this bio, I know it is in his best interest. There is someone, somewhere out there, who is going to take the time to read all of this and truly grasp how amazing he is. Maybe it is you? Thank you so much for your time.
