My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Our beautiful Ruby (she enjoys showing off her gorgeous coat after the spa treatment last week) is ready for her forever-home - for the holidays!!! She gained the necessary weight to go through the spay surgery and she has all that behind her. She also has a clean bill of health. She is excited to meet her forever family and show off her fetching skills.

Ruby is a beautiful lady who was found wandering the streets of Baltimore. She must have been on her own for a while, as she is VERY thin: she needed to gain 10-15lbs. Because of her condition, we suspect that she was abandoned in a home or enclosure and left to die of starvation - luckily she managed to chew her way out to freedom.

Ruby is eating well and she gained around 10lbs already, and she has maybe 5-6lbs to go. Her coat is a fluffy and longer and has a gorgeous shade of red. She has a gait of a show dog, and is definitely a very stylish lady. Ruby is very sweet and affectionate. She was shy and scared first, but she recovered quickly. She enjoys snuggling with her foster mom and adores fetching. She can fetch her cuz-ball for hours and never gets tired of playing. Ruby is OK with other dogs most of the time, she does not like them around her food and toys though and she has her bossy moments. For this reason she would do best as an only dog as she prefers to be the queen of the family.

Ruby is crate trained and does not have accidents in her foster home. We are working with her on basic obedience.
She is up to date on shots, spayed, heartworm negative and also negative for tick-borne diseases. Ruby is around 3 years old.
