This beautiful, sweet girl was rescued by one our favorite vet tech's, Kendall who works at our vet partner in SC. Kendall saw Carly running in traffic, and immediately sprung into action to save her. She got Carly safely into her car, and brought her into work to try to find her family. Carly stayed at the vet clinic for over a week, and quickly became a staff favorite. When no one responded or appeared to be looking for this awesome dog, they reached out to Worthy Dog to take her in. We were happy to help and found her a local foster to settle her in before she makes the trip to N VA.
We checked in with Carly's foster mom, Paula, for update:
"Regarding Miss Carly...If I could describe the "perfect pet" Carly would be it! She is house broken, crate trained, has no destructive habits, is well mannered and calm, and walks on a leash perfectly pacing herself with her human. She is HIGHLY INTELLIGENT and has a way of communicating with her big, soulful, chocolate eyes that never stops melting my heart. She senses your mood and acts according. If you give direct eye contact and a smile, she approaches to love on you. If you seem distracted or in a hurry, she quietly sits watching. I have NEVER seen a dog more in tune with humans and I have been around a lot of dogs.
Carly is SO AFFECTIONATE and loves to be in your lap and positions herself so she can look directly into your eyes, laying there perfectly still and content for hours if you let her. She gets along great with every dog she meets and shows a timid curiosity towards cats. She is very playful and gets along so well with Leo(my finance's foster-failure). Leo was severely abused and is very timid, but Carly is sweet and gentle with him. I have not seen her around kids but I can't imagine that being a problem. She doesn't have an aggressive bone in her and she tends to be on the timid side herself.
Carly is EVERYTHING a person could hope for as a new family addition and I will be so sad when she leaves me. She is very photogenic so I will get you some cute pictures soon."

You can also help save dogs like this one by becoming a foster, providing a rescue dog with a temporary home and giving them the love and care they need until they are permanently adopted. Every person who fosters is directly responsible for saving the life of a dog, because we can only save as many dogs as we have foster families available to welcome them into their homes. If you think you might be interested in becoming a foster and want to learn more, please go to http://foster.worthydog.org and fill out an application.
