My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Athena is a smart, pretty, lovable, 15-month-old girl who loves to get treats, nuzzle with her people, run and chase squirrels. She is perfectly house trained, only chews on toys and is very particular about which chair she chooses to curl up in during the day.
She came into foster care after a month in the shelter and was very frightened and withdrawn. In a matter of weeks she has blossomed into a sweet and affectionate young lady. She needs love and patience to learn to trust again but, With treats, she was accepting and affectionate towards our family members within 24 hrs. Athena is truly deserving of a family of her own. She is certain to become one of the most lovable and bonded Danes in the right house.
Athena previously lived with a Beagle and a French Bulldog but did not get along with the Beagle. We will not place her in a home with small dogs. In her foster home she is living with a male Dane with no problems. Athena previously attended doggie day care and was a model client there, she does seem to enjoy socializing with other larger dogs. She has previously lived with cats but we do not know how she was with them. She has also lived with children with no problem. Given her trust issues we will not place her in a home with small children for safety sake.
Since Athena is still a youngster she will have a training requirement as part of her adoption contract.
