My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Serafina is a beautiful girl who came into Animal Control as a skinny little mama with her five tiny 4 week old babies. They were rescued and have been in a foster home since. Serafina has been a wonderful loving mom but she is ready for her own loving home now. She says it's not all about the babies any longer. She is a small girl at 8 lbs. She is vocal with the softest little noises when her foster mom pets her and she loves to have her belly rubbed and be held. She is tolerant of friendly dogs, can be a little hissy at first with new cats but adjusts quickly and loves everyone. We estimate Serafina to be 1-1.5 years old. Serafina is up to date on all her vaccinations (Fvrcp, Feline Leukemia, and Rabies), has tested negative for Feline Leukemia and FIV and has been spayed. If you are interested in Serafina, please email today for an application!

Please, you MUST visit the following link BEFORE emailing for further information. If you'd like to find out more information about our adoption procedure or to apply for this cat visit http://www.poochesonthemove.net/dixie-pet-underground.html
Or e-mail adoptions@dixiepetunderground.org to request an adoption application, or visit our website at www.dixiepetunderground.org.

Once we receive your complete application, an adoption counselor will call you within 48 hours of receipt of the application. During the adoption interview, the adoption counselor will tell you more about the cat/kitten and our adoption processes, as well as answer any questions you have.
cats and kittens are up-to-date on their vaccinations, spayed/neutered, de-wormed, treated for fleas/ticks and Feline Leukemia negative before leaving rescue. You will receive complete medical records for your cat or kitten at the time of adoption.

The adoption fee is $225 and covers the cost of all veterinary care and transportation to your area.
Our cats and kittens are delivered via a USDA-certified van transport and receive an Interstate Health Certificate -- issue by a licensed, accredited veterinarian -- no more than 10 days before the cat or kitten leaves rescue.

All of our cats and kittens come into rescue from the "death row" of animal shelters in the south, or are owner surrenders or strays who were "pound bound" before coming into rescue. Adopting a cat or kitten from the Dixie Pet Underground Railroad means you are truly part of a partnership to save the life of the cat or kitten that you welcome into your family.

Our cats or kittens are fostered at our rescue in Tennessee, meaning that it isn't possible to meet the cat or kitten before adoption. Our adoption counselor works with you to do everything possible to ensure that there is a good match between the family and the cat. We have had several hundred cats adopted using this process and most of the time, it results in happy kittens and happy people.

If for any reason an adoption is not successful, the Dixie Pet Underground Railroad will work with the adopter to find the best possible solution for the cat and the adopting family.

We can provide contact information for adopters in your area who can tell you about their experience
