My name is Ace and I am a super great dog, I love all people, dogs and kids but no experience with cats as far as I know. I have such a fun and loving temperament it's crazy, I am very sensitive so training would need to be gentle training! My foster Mommy taught me lots of tricks and I do love to play and my favorite toys are ropes and flat squeaky toys so far but can be chill and relax with ya. I get along great with other dogs so far and like to play chase with them. I love my backyard that is all fenced in but that is not a requirement but if you plan on letting me out the door to potty myself I will take off, if I see an open door I will trot right out the door. I do need work with some issues such as puling on a leash cause I love walks and of course running out the door esp if I see another fur friend. I have had no accidents in my home but I do get let out frequently as my foster Mom does work from home the majority of the time.

My story:
I had my very first family when I was just a baby but they really didn't take care of me so my Mommy grabbed me up and started to take care of me. She taught me tricks, some commands and how to be a polite dog and she did such a wonderful job with me. One thing she didn't work on was how not to run out the door, I did love to run around if you let me out the door without a leash I would visit the whole neighborhood but I lived with her most of my life. Then... things changed..... my Mommy got busy and started to travel....she was spending less time with me and I was not getting the attention she thought I deserved so Mommy decided to find a new family for me. I went to a new family with kids and everything, what dog wouldn't love that but because they didn't pay attention and just let me out the door I took off to run around and visit the neighbors, they didn't try to find me and I ended up at the shelter. My Mommy called my new family and they never came for me and my Mommy could no longer care for me nor find the right home for me so she surrendered me sadly to the shelter and the shelter looked for a rescue for me cause they just loved me!! Now here I am at The First Step Rescue. You see I love to be outside and given the chance I will run out the door and whomever adopts me will need to use extra caution with me and doors and will need to work with me on this issue with training.
