My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

(If you can't afford an adoption fee, you won't be able to afford to take a Pekingese to the vet to get the proper care that they need. Do not inquire)

This is Chico. He is our sweet and handsome 8 year old male Pekingese. He is naturally easy going and politely affectionate. His people are everything to him. He finds much joy in walks and exploring. Would love a fenced in backyard to call his own.

He is house trained; his signal is to politely wait by the door, then he dances when acknowledged. He can also use a pee pad if needed at nighttime.

He likes other dogs and tries very hard to be part of the pack. He hasn't quite figured out toys yet. Not that he's dull, but rather it appears that he's not used to having them. That being said, he is just as happy to people watch or get brushed, or cuddle. He sleeps at the foot of the bed until he gets too hot and plops on the floor.

He seems a little shy of cameras and scared of bicyclists. He is learning to like bananas and broccoli. He will sit and take treats nicely when asked. His "that feels good" face is basically Elvis. He would appreciate doggie steps for tall furniture/beds because of his short legs.

He is up to date on shots, has been neutered and tested negative for heartworm.

***He is very nervous around kids and will try to snap at them, if not monitored at all times. We feel that it is best that he be adopted into a home without small kids and only older, respectful kids in the home!!***
