My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This is Simba. He was a feral that got ran over by a car and found by CNA's at a nursing home who contacted All Paws Matter to take him in. He was dragging his body by his front paws and meowing for help. One of our volunteers picked him up at 11pm and drove him an hour away to an emergency vet. The vet recommended euthanizing him without even doing any tests because she believed he was paralyzed from the waist down and would need a wheelchair and diapers for the rest of his life, but the volunteer refused to have him put down.
She took him home with pain medication and requested an appointment with our usual vet for the next day. Our usual vet tested him further, and determined that he does not have any broken bones, but sustained a spinal injury. It is not guaranteed, but likely that Simba will be able to walk on his own again after treatment. Simba has already shown that he is continent, as well. There are no guarantees, but this sweet boy is just so happy to be alive. We do not care if he has special needs, as long as he is healthy and happy. Sometimes you have to listen to your heart, not your vet! Miracles happen every day!
Simba is not up for adoption, and likely never will be due to his special needs and extended care. However, you can help change this sweet boy's life by donating to All Paws Matter to help fund his vet bills, wheelchair if he does end up needing one, vaccines, neutering (when he's ready!), and food. You can also help other kitties like Simba by volunteering and fostering!
