Hey there, I'm Opal. I know I may have the same look in every photo, that's because I can't stop smiling. I have had this same look on my face since the day my friends at ALIVE Rescue Memphis came and picked me up and brought me to a cool place called a foster home. I'm here with a super sweet married couple and I adore hanging out with them. I also love hanging out with other dogs. I have met dogs of every breed and size and what can I say, I must be easy to love because I have gotten along with all of them. I do great on leash walks and my foster mom even takes me for runs often. I'm great keeping up with her and staying by her side. I'm perfectly content just spending an afternoon on the couch watching tv and snuggling. I have no problem going into my crate when it's time for my foster parents to go to work. When they get home, I wake up, yawn, and immediately plant that silly grin right back on my face. The only thing that would make me happier than I already am is meeting the sweet person who will be mine forever. Is that you?
All of our pets start their journey in Memphis, Tennessee where they remain in loving foster families until they are adopted.
In order to qualify for ALIVE’s program all of the following steps must be met: • You must be at least 24 years of age and be able to provide ALIVE with proof of age. • Any current pets must be up to date on vaccinations, and be spayed/neutered. Exceptions to this will only be considered if proof of a medical explanation is provided. • If you currently rent, you must provide a landlord’s phone number and a copy of your executed lease. • All members of the family living in the home where the animal will be placed must be interviewed. • Allow an ALIVE Rescue Memphis representative into your home for a visit to insure that your home is safe for the potential new dog or cat. • Be able and willing to spend the time and money necessary to provide training, medical treatment and proper care for a pet. • Currently, the requested donation to adopt a dog from ALIVE Rescue Memphis is $300.00. The $300.00 adoption fee includes transport to the Nashville area.

Due to the extremely high volume of inquiries we receive, we ask that you submit an application immediately to start the adoption process. We try very hard to include all pertinent information in our bios. We are excited to help you find your new family member. However, ALIVE Rescue Memphis is operated 100% by volunteers. We want to spend our time saving dogs and assisting those adopters who have taken the time to complete an application. Thank you for understanding.
Breed selection is done in conjunction with two local vets and is not to be considered a guarantee but rather a well-educated decision from well qualified staff.
