Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Clue is a small English Mastiff who was surrendered to Rescue. He's housetrained, has excellent house manners and every though he's 7 years old, he still has spring in his step! He enjoys his walk and plays with other dogs (as long as they don't show him any attitude). This breed is known for being mild-mannered, yet has guarding tendencies and is imposing because of the size and self-assurance. Clue shows his dislike for being behind a barrier, therefore if he finds a fence, a crate or a door separating him from a visitor, he growls and barks and frightens people. Once he is told it’s OK, he’s happy to meet that person! His new family will need to be aware of the frustration he feels with the barrier. The ideal home for Clue is a quiet one where he doesn’t feel the need to be on guard. We won’t adopt him to a family with small children because of his age and size. He does not like cats and would do best in a home with a submissive dog who understands the needs of a senior citizen. Clue is a big mush who loves the attention of his humans. Maybe you are reluctant to adopt a senior dog because you fear that your time with your new best friend will be short, bringing that painful time of loss closer. But the privilege of loving a senior dog makes every single day special, as you and your companion share love, friendship, and a special relationship that grows stronger with the knowledge that you have given this fine old dog a second chance at life. The love that grows from this knowledge is stronger than the pain of eventual separation.
